Plötulopi strikkes oftest med to eller tre tråde sammen, hvilket giver tøj, der er usædvanligt let og luftigt. Når det først er strikket, bliver Plötulopi overraskende stærkt – takket være de unikke egenskaber ved islandsk uld.

Tvind forsigtigt det ønskede antal tråde af Plötulopi sammen, eller strik direkte fra pladerne.

En enkelt tråd af Plötulopi er meget skrøbelig. Den kan forstærkes ved let tvinding. Plötulopi egner sig også godt til filtning, håndspinding og mange andre projekter.
